The Beach
Surfside Beach’s light, fine sand and abundant palm trees make it a perfect choice for spreading out a towel, taking a picnic or closing your eyes under an umbrella to the sound of the waves. The beachfront path is perfect for a walk or a bike ride, with rentals available throughout.
Between April and October, keep an eye out for restricted zones or signs indicating sea turtle nests.

Eat & Drink
The Surf Club Restaurant
Housed in the 1930s structure of the original Surf Club Miami – which once hosted Hollywood stars, royals and politicians like Winston Churchill – sits The Surf Club Restaurant. This glamorous spot by chef Thomas Keller holds a MICHELIN star, with impeccably executed Continental dishes like oysters Rockefeller, prime beef short rib Wellington and Maine lobster Thermidor. The menu, rooted in European techniques, is a nod to the glitz of the club’s prime.
Josh’s Deli
The MICHELIN-recommended Josh’s Deli is a casual eatery serving traditional kosher favorites with imaginative twists, including some Asian and Latin influences. Try the Jewban, Josh’s take on the classic Cuban sandwich, made with roast pork, Swiss cheese and pastrami. With meats and fish all cured in-house and fusion creations like spicy tuna cream cheese, it’s easy to see why this deli stands out.
Hikari
With a show-stopping dining room and plating that’s just as beautiful, contemporary Japanese restaurant Hikari is perfect for a night out in Surfside. Enjoy starters like wagyu gyoza with Asian pear ponzu or yakitori skewers with mango chutney, followed by an entrée of signature bluefin crispy rice maki or lamb chops with fig glacé. Aside from the à la carte menu, Hikari offers 3 omakase experiences, each ranging from 6 to 8 courses.
Neya
In the heart of Surfside, Neya is an upscale, Israeli-focused Mediterranean restaurant that also serves amazing cocktails and wine. The kosher-certified spot offers freshly baked breads and pitas, among dishes like truffle wild mushroom polenta, grilled branzino in Jerusalem artichoke puree, and dates with brie and aged parmesan in Silan syrup. If you’re not sure what to order, go for the chef’s tasting menu.
Serendipity Creamery & Yogurt Cafe
Stop in at Serendipity Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt for an array of sweets to please the whole family. The kosher-certified creamery’s artisanal ice creams, smoothies, floats and gourmet treats make it a local favorite, offering classics alongside pareve and vegan options.

Attractions
Surfside has long been dedicated to preserving the thousands of loggerhead turtles that nest on its shores each spring. Commemorating Surfside’s commitment to sea turtle awareness, the Turtle Walk on 93rd Street is a citywide art exhibition featuring 13 5-by-4-foot turtle sculptures, each painted by local artists.
The art installation is located next to the Surfside Community Center, a recreational space complete with a recreational pool with a water slide, a plunge pool, a snack bar and multipurpose rooms. Though not open to the general public, residents with identification may bring up to 5 guests with purchased passes.
