How to Get to Miami Beach from the Airport
- January 14, 2026
When traveling to Greater Miami & Miami Beach, exploring the stunning beaches, best-in-class restaurants, luxury hotels and famous nightlife has never been easier. Here are three simple ways to get from the airport to the beach to start enjoying your adventure.
Travel Tip
When using public transportation in Miami, download the GO Miami-Dade Transit app for schedules, real-time tracking and payment. You can also buy a Transit Pass to make travel easier (and cheaper), depending on your needs.
Take The Miami Beach Airport Express
One of the easiest (and least expensive) ways to get from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Miami Beach is by taking the Route 150 Miami Beach Airport Express bus. You can catch it by first taking the MIA Mover to the Miami International Airport Metrorail station.
The bus, which has luggage racks and comfortable seating, operates seven days a week from approximately 5 a.m. to midnight (check the bus tracker for exact times) and picks up passengers every 30 minutes, traveling across the Julia Tuttle Causeway to Mid Beach.
The limited-stop service takes passengers between South Pointe Park and 44th Street, along Collins Avenue, Indian Creek Drive and Washington Avenue before heading back to the MIA Metrorail station. The fare is $2.25 each way.

Rent A Car At MIA
For convenience and flexibility, rent a car from the airport’s on-site MIA Rental Car Center. To get there, follow the signs to the MIA Mover – you’ll need to go to the third floor and take the airport Skyride and moving walkways.
The MIA Mover stops at the rental car center, where you’ll find more than 10 rental car operators, including Alamo, Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, National and Sixt Rent a Car, LLC.
While MIA Rental Car Center is open 24 hours a day, some rental car companies close between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., so it’s important to call ahead and confirm what time your car will be available for pickup.

Take An Uber, Lyft Or Taxi
Taxis and ride-sharing services are widely available at MIA (and all over Miami). Taxis from MIA to South Beach run on meter pricing and can be found at the lower-level curb right outside of baggage claim.
If you want to know the cost of your trip prior to your ride, you can calculate the taxi rates and surcharges in advance. If you need a wheelchair-accessible taxi, ask an official airport attendant to help you find one.
To take advantage of ride-sharing services, download mobile apps such as Lyft or Uber. Open the app, type in the name or address of your destination and choose from a range of fares and car options – from solo and shared rides to larger, pet-friendly and even high-end vehicles.
There are multiple pickup zones for Uber and Lyft throughout MIA. In order to secure your ride, choose one and meet your driver there.
Ride-sharing pickup zones are located on the arrivals level outside of doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 15, 20 and 23 along the middle median outside the baggage claim doors.
