Miami’s After-Hours Music Scene
- May 04, 2025
Live music in Greater Miami & Miami Beach can mean something a little different than it does in most other places. Here, it often means heading to clubs well past midnight to see renowned electronic dance music (EDM) artists. The destination’s later closing times mean we can keep parties going well into the next morning, often watching the sun rise with melodic beats as the backdrop. Whether you’re at one of Miami’s best clubs or a music festival, these are the best spots for music when the rest of the world goes to sleep.
Party at Club Space, the After-Hours Epicenter of Miami
Club Space in Downtown Miami is about as close as an after-hours club can come to being a landmark. The massive indoor-outdoor dance venue has been going strong since 2000 – an eternity in club years – and has hosted every big-name DJ, from Danny Tenaglia in the early 2000s to Rüfüs du Sol today. The club is the go-to for electronic dance music in Miami, and watching the sun rise from its upstairs patio is a rite of passage for many who live here. Some enterprising partiers wake up at 5 or 6 a.m. to go to Club Space early in the morning, as it stays open from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. from Friday night to Monday. Recently, Space also opened The Ground, a music venue on the club’s ground floor that showcases live bands.

High-Energy Nights & Celebrities At LIV
LIV, in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel in Mid Beach, has become a destination nightclub for those looking to immerse themselves in the Miami scene. Models, celebrities and people who want to live like them pack the place every weekend, when world-famous DJs, like Afrojack and Steve Aoki, take over the stage. VIP tables line the dance floor, and the two-level venue becomes a double-decker party until 5 a.m. LIV has also become a major destination for hip-hop artists, recently welcoming Mary J. Blige.
Intimate Underground Sets at Floyd
Tucked amidst the big, flashy Downtown Miami dance clubs, Floyd offers a smaller, music-driven alternative to the late-night scene. It’s a simple, large room adorned in chandeliers with a couple of bars. The DJ booth sits right on the dance floor, making the place feel more like a wild late-night wedding reception than a club. Artists who play here aren’t usually big names – you’ll be more likely to see Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs than Tiësto – but that’s precisely the point. Floyd is a laid-back, casual alternative for those who love dance music but aren’t big on VIP tables, and since it’s open until 6 a.m., you can pop in to chill out after a big night too.
Retro Flair and Deep Beats at Jolene Sound Room
Part cocktail lounge, part dance club, Jolene Sound Room creates a more-subdued place for those who love electronic music. The collaboration of Club Space owners and the renowned Bar Lab team, the bar is meant to evoke a 1970s recording studio, with carpet on the walls and acoustic tiles on the ceiling. It serves a special menu of craft cocktails, making it as much a spot to grab a drink as dance until 4 a.m. It’s also a little removed from the heart of Downtown Miami nightlife, hidden in the basement of the Julia & Henry’s food hall.
Dance into the Night at Do Not Sit On The Furniture
The admonition in Do Not Sit On The Furniture’s name isn’t a warning to keep you off the good couches, like you might have heard every time you went to grandma’s. It’s an encouragement to get up and dance. Owned by world-famous DJ Behrouz, Do Not Sit, as locals call it, is the opposite of a see-and-be-seen club, a place in South Beach where lounging at a VIP table is discouraged and guests are all about the music. The music skews a little more underground here, more a lineup of local DJs whose friends are all in attendance than big names. And if you’re looking for a place to cut loose to cool music with people in the know, Do Not Sit is open Wednesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Massive Warehouse Raves at Factory Town
The people behind the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) took over an old mattress factory complex in Hialeah to create Miami’s ultimate electronic music wonderland. Factory Town isn’t just a club. It’s a maze of stages and art installations, indoors and out, where you can dance with thousands of others to big names, like Loco Dice and Dom Dolla, or tuck into an intimate underground venue and discover new talent. Surprises lurk around every corner. You may wander off to the restroom and find yourself in a carnival-themed neon playground. Its hours vary, though it typically stays open until 7 a.m.
Nightlife Never Sleeps at E11EVEN MIAMI
Looking to keep the party going even though it’s past noon? E11EVEN Miami has you covered. This Downtown Miami superclub stays open from 8 p.m. Wednesday through Monday morning. It’s become an icon in nightlife, spawning a Vodka brand, a condo tower and apparel you’ll see all over Miami. Inside is a place where time doesn't exist and topless dancers perform acrobatics under showers of dollar bills. It’s become the city’s most visible celebrity hangout, and the biggest names in hip-hop and dance music – from Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross to The Chainsmokers and Diplo – take the stage every weekend.
