Jet Ski Fun in Miami
- May 06, 2025
When you picture Greater Miami & Miami Beach, you may imagine Jet Skiers racing on turquoise waters or maybe through mangrove forests and past luxury mansions. Well, that could be you. The destination’s waterways are a playground for water sports enthusiasts and Jet Ski riders of all skill levels to have an unforgettable time.
Best Places to Jet Ski in Miami
Whether you're a first-timer or an experienced rider, Miami is the perfect place to experience this exhilarating sport. There are plenty of scenic places where you can Jet Ski and explore at your own pace.
South Beach
Head to South Beach for classic Miami views. You can launch your own Jet Ski from Miami Beach Marina or rent one from companies like BouYah Watersports or Jet Skis in Miami. Starting from South Beach gives you easy access to gliding past the opulent homes of Star Island, zipping around the Venetian Islands, or riding south toward the exclusive shores of Fisher Island.
Government Cut
Looking for a thrill? Launch from the Miami Beach Marina and head out through Government Cut, the manmade channel where Biscayne Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. It's ideal for more-experienced riders ready to navigate more-challenging waves and currents. You can also ride west for a unique view of cruise ships sailing in and out of and PortMiami.
Mid Beach
The waters off Mid Beach offer a slightly quieter but still stunning experience. Corsair Watersports provides Jet Ski rentals that begin with a scenic boat ride and safety briefing before you head out into Biscayne Bay. If you're looking for something unique, try a jet car — a hybrid of a car/Jet Ski that provides a stable, sit-in ride while you skim across the water. Jet Boat Miami and MDQ Watersports also offer Jet Ski rentals.
Great Places to Ride Further North
For nature and adventure, head north to Aventura and North Miami Beach, where you’ll find access to the Intracoastal Waterway, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Rent from Beach Jet Ski Rentals of South Florida and explore the surrounding waters. Although Jet Skiing isn’t allowed inside Oleta River State Park, you can ride nearby and spot dolphins, birds, crabs and turtles. Launch near Haulover Park with All Access in Bill Bird Marina and visit Haulover Sandbar, a shallow spot that’s lively during weekends.
For a quieter scene, take off from Surfside with Jetski’s World Miami and take an easy ride north toward Haulover Sandbar or Bal Harbour while enjoying stunning coastal views. Launch from Sunny Isles Beach with Sunny Isles Beach Water Sports for easy access to top spots like Sandspur Island (Raccoon Island), Bal Harbour and Haulover Sandbar, making it an ideal starting point for a full day of adventure with friends.
Key Biscayne & Virginia Key
The calm, clear waters around Key Biscayne and Historic Virginia Key Beach Park are favorites for both beginners and experienced riders. Launch from Rickenbacker Marina with Miami Waterlife Tours, keep an eye out for dolphins and admire panoramic views of Downtown Miami.
Downtown Miami
In the waters around Downtown Miami, you can ride with views of the sparkling city skyline and capture that perfect, classic photo from the water. Rent from Breeze Jet Ski Rental or MIA Jet Ski Rentals near Bayfront Park. Or book a Jet Ski with Miami Skyline Cruises, located in Bayside Marketplace, for more of those stunning views from Biscayne Bay.

Guided Jet Ski Tours
Prefer a guided experience or want to learn more about the sights? These tours combine sightseeing with the thrill of Jet Skiing.
Hector’s Jet Ski Tours Miami offers narrated rides through the waterways surrounding South Beach. You’ll cruise past celebrity homes and learn about Miami’s rich history. You can even opt for a tandem ride if you'd rather sit back and enjoy while their team handles the driving.
If you love wildlife, All Access offers the ultimate Jet Ski adventure: a scenic ride to Raccoon Island (Sandspur Island). Tours vary in duration and include a fun-filled day of exploring the island, where you can spot raccoons, dolphins and sea turtles and enjoy breathtaking views.
How Much Are Jet Ski Rentals?
Prices typically range from $100 to $210 per hour depending on the location, time of day and type of ride. Morning rides are often less expensive. Some companies allow two people to ride for the same price; others may charge around $50 extra for tandem rides. Guided tours usually range from $100 to $225 depending on the length and route. Always confirm whether a security deposit is required.
