There are plenty of ways to celebrate dad in Miami over Father’s Day, from hearty steak dinners to exotic car racing and an afternoon at the museum. To really surprise him on Father’s Day, plan a fun-filled itinerary in Miami that he’s sure to love on a day designed just for him: June 16, 2019. Read on for some inspiration on how to celebrate Father’s Day in Miami.

Take Dad to the racetrack

Speed, speed and more speed. What dad wouldn’t love that? This Father’s Day, take dad to Homestead Miami Speedway and give him a shot behind the wheel. Miami Exotic Auto Racing will be onsite with some of the world’s most exotic cars, like a Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari GT or an Audi R8. Dad can get one-on-one instruction from a professional racecar driver while you watch from the sidelines.

Spend the afternoon at Crandon Park

Celebrate Father's Day in the great outdoors under the Miami sun. Get off the beaten path and spend the day at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne where you can rent kayaks, canoes and kite boards, go on eco adventure tours, or simply hangout at the beach and enjoy quality family time together.

Treat dad to an awesome brunch

There are few things more celebratory than a fantastic Sunday Father’s Day brunch. Treat dad to EDGE Steak & Bar’s weekly Sunday Brunch at the Four Seasons Miami in Brickell, which boasts a la carte stations of made-to-order BBQ, fresh seafood, whole roasted Caja China pork, bottomless mimosas and a dessert table. It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every Sunday and they’re sure to have something special planned on Father’s Day.

The Biltmore also boasts an iconic Sunday brunch in the courtyard with a lavish buffet that has everything from caviar, smoked salmon, shellfish and a carving station, to made-to-order omelets, pastas, sushi, dessert and more. You’ll also enjoy bottomless champagne, mimosas and Bellinis with live entertainment.

Family museum day at ICA, Miami

Head to ICA, Miami on Father’s Day with the family and take advantage of their free admission to check out the latest exhibits in the Design District. The museum is devoted to contemporary art with a focus on emerging and underrepresented artists and has a handful of new exhibits on display during Father’s Day. You’ll find Gaudalupe Maravilla’s “Portals,” Paulo Nazareth’s special exhibition and Miami’s own original artist of the streets - Purvis Young’s - rarely seen drawings.

Treat dad to a steak dinner

Miami has plenty of steakhouses fit for a king—or in this case, dad. Head to Red, the Steakhouse in trendy SoFi for chef Peter Vauthy’s signature steaks with nearly 20 sauces and toppings: from classic béarnaise and peppercorn sauces, to King crab, seared foie gras and a black truffle demi-glace.

The award-winning StripSteak by Michael Mina at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach is a contemporary steakhouse concept with a la carte cuts of steak prepared in the hotel’s onsite aging room and butcher shop.

For something on the mainland in Downtown Miami, there’s nowhere better than Wolfgang’s Steakhouse. The Miami outpost of Wolfgang Zweiner’s world-renowned restaurants serves juicy steaks for two that are dry-aged onsite for 28 days.

Catch Summer Shorts at the Arsht Center

Is dad a theater buff? Snag tickets to the 4:00 p.m. matinee of Summer Shorts at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on Father’s Day. Known as America’s Short Play Festival, you’ll be treated to an afternoon of ten-minute original plays that range from comedy to drama and mini-musicals written by playwrights from around the country and performed by South Floridian actors.

Treat dad to cigars & whiskey

For a masculine lair every dad will love, take him to Brickell’s Prime Cigar and Whiskey Bar, boasting cushy custom leather chairs, a walk-in humidor and a vintage collector’s room. Try their proprietary Brickell Series Casa de Montecristo cigar or one of their many other vintage selections. Pair that with a rare whiskey and you’ve got yourself the perfect way for dad to unwind on Father’s Day.
