Whatever you call him… Dad. Papi. Poppa. Father. Old man. Pops… It’s time to celebrate the first man in your life for Father’s Day. We know it’s been quite an interesting few months, so let’s just say we deserve to celebrate dad in a big way! This Father’s Day, we’ve rounded up some ideas about how to spend some quality time in Miami with your dad.

Movie Lover

Is your dad happiest in front of a big screen? Dezerland Park, Miami’s largest indoor attraction, is offering families a safe and enjoyable drive-in movie experience just in time for Father’s Day. With state-of-the-art technology airing classic films and box office hits, pops is sure to get a kick out of a drive-in movie. If sports are more his thing, Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins, is offering a drive-in experience! The stadium features an open-air drive-in theater that showcases classic Miami Dolphins content from the team’s 54-year history, classic movies and other events.

Brews & Wine

If your dad loves craft beer, Miami’s breweries have you covered! Wynwood has a collection of great breweries. You can sip a cold one at Veza Sur and J. Wakefield Brewing. Concrete Beach Brewery delivers its brews to all 50 states, so if dad is more than a car ride away, you can always surprise him with a delicious delivery of craft beer from Miami’s finest! If you’re in the Doral area, M.I.A. Beer Company is open and ready to serve. This brewery boasts a beer garden and a tasting room with a roster of craft IPAs, lagers, ales and more. Its beers include the 305 Golden Ale, ciders such as the Hop Mimosa, and some flavorful hard water with hints of cucumber, pineapple, lemon lime and more.

In South Dade, Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery is home to Miami Brewing Company, which is open for business and ready to receive you. Make sure to try the Shark Bait, a smooth wheat ale and the Miami Vice, a pale ale IPA. You won’t regret it! If dad’s favorite sport is wine tasting, then Schnebly’s has some fun tastings and tours offering five tropical fruit wines to savor, plus a beautiful souvenir glass to take home.

Trump National Doral

Tee Time

Golf courses opened just in time for dad to dust off his clubs and make a tee time. If he’s been complaining about never having time to hit the links, then spoil him with a day at the Biltmore Hotel’s celebrated golf course. If the Blue Monster is on his bucket list, then make it happen at the Trump National Doral, Miami. This 18-hole championship course will have him thinking he’s Tiger Woods winning another tournament. Plus, the property has its own club-fitting lab, so professionals can tailor make dad’s club to his correct specs.

Necessary Grooming

Show dad you love him with the gift of grooming. Treat him to a cut at Razzle Dazzle Barber Shop – it’s like Moulin Rouge landed at a 1940s barber shop. With locations in Brickell and Coral Gables, this is a unique barbershop experience. The throwback spot offers dad an oasis to get pampered (man-pered)! He will leave feeling like a gentleman and a scholar.

A Manly Meal

Miami knows how to dine, and offers something for every palate. As an early treat to all of us, Miami Spice kicked off June 1. One of the most popular Miami Temptations programs, Miami Spice offers diners an affordable way to enjoy a meal out with dad, for a fraction of the price. A three-course lunch will only set you back $25 and you can’t beat a $39 dinner at some of Miami’s best eateries. The program will run through the end of September, so you’ll have time to treat dad again and again. If papa’s a steak lover, nothing beats Meat Market on Lincoln Road. After his belt buckle is taken out a notch, he may want to stroll along Lincoln Road to walk off that delicious meal. La Fresa Francesa in Hialeah is an astoundingly delicious French restaurant in the middle of a very Latin neighborhood! Surprisingly authentic, expect to drool over comforting French onion soup and green risotto in corn broth. As a finisher, how about the sweet banana flambe! Another Miami Spice spot is Coral Gables’ Aromas del Peru. You can feast on some creative Peruvian dishes such as creamy gnocchi with lomo saltado, and all sorts of ceviche creations.

Be a Kid Again!

There’s nothing more exhilarating than acting like a kid, so pack your bags and head to the Tidal Cove Waterpark at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura. You can spend the entire weekend floating down the lazy river or racing down the numerous water slides that will definitely make you squeal. There are plenty of places to get some vitamin D and grab a beverage or hearty lunch. Dinner at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Bourbon Steak, is sure to please since beef and bourbon are on the menu. It’s a perfect way for dad to end the day.

A Fish called DAD

If dad loves to fish, then snag a spot at the Deering Estate’s Father’s Day Fishing Charter Cruise on Sunday, June 21. This fishing excursion is a three-hour trip aboard a 45-foot catamaran on the waters of Biscayne Bay! Deering Estate naturalists will be on deck to educate dad about marine life and point out native birds. Bring your own rods and tackle. Hopefully dad will catch a big one and have a great fishing story to tell his friends.

Virtual Fun

If dad is more of the stay-at-home type , then show him you put some effort into Father’s Day with a virtual Miami outing. Miami has dozens of great online experiences for dad to enjoy. From a 360-degree tour of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens showcasing some unique locations, to a virtual Wynwood Walls gallery tour or even a virtual happy hour with a DJ spinning some live beats, there’s bound to be something he will appreciate.

Here are some additional ideas to make dad feel special on Father’s Day. Show dad how much you value him, and make it a special weekend to remember.
