Car Services and Taxis

Taxis are a good option to get you to PortMiami on time for your cruise. There is a flat rate fare between Miami International Airport and PortMiami for $27.

Some rental car agencies and nearby hotels offer courtesy shuttle service to and from the port. You can also open up your favorite ridesharing app to come pick you up from whatever Miami hotspot you are sipping mojitos at and drop you off at the terminal with ease. No need to worry about parking - or even directions.

Getting to PortMiami from Airports with Public Transportation

The distance between Miami International Airport (MIA) and PortMiami is seven miles and the distance between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and PortMiami is 25 miles. Travel time varies greatly depending on the time of day and traffic so public transportation is often a great way to travel between these two airports and PortMiami.

In Miami, Metrorail's Orange Line can get you from the airport to Downtown Miami in less than half an hour. Transfer to Metromover at Government Center and get off at the Freedom Tower stop. From there, you can either walk 1.5 miles to the port or catch the Coral Way Route Trolley to the port. The Coral Way Route Trolley stops every 15 to 20 minutes and runs from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Traveler Tip: There's an app for iPhone and Android mobile devices that will help you navigate public transportation: the GO Miami-Dade Transit.

If you’re coming from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and you want to take public transportation to PortMiami, then you’ll need to take the Tri-Rail commuter train to Miami International Airport. Then Metrorail’s Orange Line can take you to Downtown Miami’s Metromover to get off at the Freedom Tower stop. From there, you can either catch the Coral Way Route Trolley or walk 1.5 miles to the port.
