International Hispanic Theater Festival of Miami

Spanish-language theater from across Latin America, Spain and the U.S. Hispanic community returns to Miami for Teatro Avante’s milestone festival edition. The 40th International Hispanic Theater Festival of Miami takes place on select dates from September 3-27, bringing contemporary and classic works to stages throughout the area. Presented by Teatro Avante, the annual festival highlights theater companies, playwrights and performers whose work reflects the range of Hispanic and Ibero-American stage traditions.

Founded in 1986, the festival has become one of Miami’s key platforms for international Spanish-language theater. Its programming typically includes productions by visiting companies, post-show conversations and related cultural activities, with many performances presented in Spanish and select productions offering English supertitles.
