Luis Miranda, Jr., a prominent figure in Latino activism, will be presenting his new memoir, “Relentless: My Story of the Latino Spirit That Is Transforming America.” In this insightful book, Miranda shares his personal and political journey, offering an understanding of Latino culture and the power of community in effecting positive change. As a veteran of both New York and national politics, Miranda embodies the relentless spirit of progress among American immigrants.
The memoir delves into key themes, including activism and advocacy. It traces Miranda’s evolution from a passionately driven Puerto Rican activist to a seasoned political advisor and problem solver. Additionally, the book sheds light on significant moments such as the meteoric rise of the iconic musical “Hamilton,” by his son, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the aftermath of Hurricane Maria’s devastation in Puerto Rico. Through these experiences, Miranda provides valuable lessons and perspectives on our ever-changing politics, demographics and society.
