Carnival of the Animals
This event has passed.
Join Orchestra Miami on Saturday, February 10th for a presentation of Carnival of the Animals during Family Day on Aragon at the Coral Gables Museum. This comedic musical suite, composed of 14 movements by Camille Saint-Saëns, parodies the animal kingdom with a witty and inventive score. The program also includes Ottorino Respighi's The Birds, a Baroque-inspired suite portraying bird actions such as fluttering wings and scratching feet.
Conducted by Maestro Elaine Rinaldi, the performance will feature piano soloists Elisabeth Thomashoff, originally from Vienna, Austria, and Russian-born Aneliya Novikova. Both are students at Lynn Conservatory in Boca Raton. Each suite lasts approximately 45 minutes, and the event is free and open to the public. The performance will take place on the Museum Plaza, facing Salzedo Street.
