Taking place in the intimate setting of The Betsy's Piano Bar, the performance features Tai Allen and John Harden. Multi-talented poet, vocalist, musician, producer and designer Tai Allen has graced domestic and international stages, including the Apollo Theater's Music Café, the National Black Writers Conference and the Blue Note. His poetry collection, No Jewels, and its accompanying soundtrack were released in 2017. Allen is the CreARTe Jazz Artist in Residence in The Betsy Writers Room.
Joining him is John Harden, a saxophonist and songwriter originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, now based in Miami. Harden's music spans multiple genres, with strong influences from jazz, gospel and jam bands. His diverse music collection reflects his broad musical palette with artists like Joshua Redman, Derek Trucks, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic and the Dave Matthews Band.
The Betsy Live Jazz is the longest-running live music series on Miami Beach, offering live jazz performances seven days a week, nine times a week, with no cover and no minimum.
