Unleash your inner artist and celebrate cultural heritage at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens' Miccosukee Patchwork: A Workshop on selected dates of June 16, 22 and 23. This free workshop invites participants to create their own textile art inspired by the vibrant traditions of the Miccosukee tribe.
Led by Miccosukee artist Cayla WIllie and Voices of the River of Grass, the workshop will guide you on a creative journey. You'll learn to translate your personal stories and memories into handcrafted textiles. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to not only create a piece with personal significance but also gain a deeper appreciation for Miccosukee artistic expression.
Space is limited and requires confirmation. After registering through Eventbrite, you'll receive a follow-up email from Vizcaya Museum. To secure your spot, simply reply to confirm your attendance.
The completed artwork will be displayed in Vizcaya's gardens on the evening of Saturday, July 13, as part of the museum's Stitch program.
