Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and its dramatic impact on the hospitality industry, in March 2020 the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) launched MIAMI EATS – a program to help local restaurants and their employees during the crisis. Now more than ever they need our support, so we are asking all Greater Miami residents to please patronize these restaurants in and take advantage of the special deals many are offering.

The best way to support local restaurants is by calling them directly (learn why).

No need to buy too many groceries when Miami’s restaurants can provide you and your family with great meals at great prices. Whether it’s pick-up, delivery or curbside, these establishments can satisfy any taste. And what better way than to help your favorite local restaurants stay in business during the crisis.

  • If you opt for pick-up, please keep the recommended six-foot distance between you and others in line. All restaurants must provide markings or other form of visible means to remind customers they must stay six feet apart.
  • For your protection and to slow the spread of the coronavirus, all employees, customers, and delivery drivers in the city of Miami Beach and Miami are required to wear a face covering in public settings.

Another way to show some culinary love to the restaurants is to purchase their gift cards for all those special occasions you’ll feel guilty not being able to spend with your friends. You can search our list by those that have their own gift card or just call any restaurant and place an order and have it delivered directly to those special people in your lives as a surprise.

There are so many folks in our community that are helping us get through this crisis including the front-line medical staff to the police and fire first-responders keeping us safe. Meals for Heroes Miami is an organization paying restaurants a stipend to prepare high-quality meals to deliver to these heroes at hospitals, police, and fire stations. They are hoping to expand their efforts with your support. Please help by donating to this amazing program at

The Meals For Heroes mission is to supply Doctors, Nurses, EMS and First Responder teams, drive through virus testing employees, and all front-line healthcare workers with a warm meal throughout this crisis. It’s the least that we can do for these heroes. We hope that you will consider donating to this important cause.
